RICHARD HAGEMANN

Classical Pianist Richard Hagemann from the early age of eight, has been a promising young talent in the New York circuit. Richard began taking lessons with John Schwarko before moving on to acclaimed concert pianist, Carol Ferri in his high school years. He attended Mannes Conservatory Preparatory Division for two years, studying piano with Lev Simarov. Richard graduated in 2014 from Bard college, after pursuing a degree in music with internationally acclaimed concert pianist and collaborator Blair McMillen.. A versatile pianist, Richard works as a frequent soloist and collaborator  with an eclectic repertoire ranging from Bach, to Poulenc, to John Adams. Richard has performed in the recent Beethoven the Contemporary Festival at NYU, and appeared as a soloist with the American Symphony Orchestra.

Besides his work as a performer, Richard takes great pride in his work as a teacher of piano. During his time at New York University he studied with renowned pianist, Marilyn Nonken, and received his Masters in Piano Performance and an Artist Certificate in piano pedagogy while working as a teaching fellow at NYU. As an instructor he inspires musical excellence and individual creativity. As a teacher he values honesty, patience, and compassion. Mr, Hagemann is also a proud cat dad to Alma Bea Carlson Hagemann.
